Recently, there have been some concerns regarding Tre Mason and his recent arrest in Florida last month. Drafted in the third round in 2014, he is expected to participate in the Rams’ offseason workout program, however some believe the Rams might have doubts about his future, and it could be a wise move to make an attempt at another backup in the draft. Most likely using theĀ fourth or sixth round if one is available.

Todd Gurley meanwhile is becoming the focal point of the Rams’ offense and it will remain that way throughout the year as they will be drafting and starting a rookie QB with the No. 1 overall pick next week.

So.. why again would we be using a valuable pick on another running back? Well with Mason’s issues and the fact that we will have a rookie QB, we could use some depth and a safety net in the backfield. Behind Mason on the depth chart is Benny Cunningham, who has 647 rushing yards in three seasons with the Rams. He also doubles as the primary kick returner, and should he get injured in the act, well, the Rams might be making some calls..

Or, would it be wise to utilize our five picks in this years draft to build depth in other positional concerns? Receivers? O-line to back up the Rook? Then again, the Rams’ offense typically is a run-heavy one under Coach Jeff Fisher. Maybe they will go for a late round pick.. thoughts?
