The long awaited Rams football return is finally here. Tonight for the first time in 22 years LA will be represented in an NFL game as they take on much-hated team from Northern California- the 49ers. The game starts at 7:20 PST and will cap off week 1 of the NFL season in the only way LA know how; under the bright lights of the nation televised Monday Night Football.

These two teams split their last season match-ups, both winning at home. The 49ers won the last meeting in OT 19-16 with Blaine Gabbert who went 28-44 for 354 Yds, 1 TD and 1 INT. Should be noted that Todd Gurley did not play in that game.

With the Rams other two division teams (Seahawks & Cardinals) looking very unstable in their opening games on Sunday, this is huge opportunity to come out in front of the whole country and get a strong win against a team that most have finishing last in the West.

The Draft is long behind us, there is no more QB battle (if there ever was one in the first place), Training camp is all over, HBO Hard Knocks has packed up their cameras and gone home. It is now time for football. Time to lace them up and see what this team truly is made of.

Prediction:

Rams come out early with a heavy dose of Todd Gurley and mix up some play action passes. Our Defense has looked shaky at time during the preseason and it may take a few series for them to settle in on the road. I see this being a some what close game in the first have, then the Rams pulling away in the 2nd half by continuing to pound the ball and ware out that 49er defense.

Rams win 28-17
